November Journaling Challenge

Last week I talked about cognitive offloading as a journaling strategy. Honestly it is my favorite. I truly am able to process through all the "stuff" clogging up my brain. Sometimes I have a-ha, lightbulb moments that really hit me as I'm writing.

But I know that for people new to journaling, simply sitting down to write whatever comes to your head can feel silly, overwheming and uncomfortable. It's weird. I realize that it can be easier to write to a prompt - kind of like answering a question or having a conversation. You can pretend that you are in a conversation with someone outside of you.

So for the month of November, I will be sending you daily journal prompts to your email every morning. To celebrate the launch of my new book, Draft U, the prompts will be from the book, because even though the "audience" is teens and young adults, the prompts are applicable to all of us.

Let's also talk about The Reflection Room - I have had only one person drop in to journal with me (you know who you are). Let me know your thoughts about this. Is it the time? I chose this time thinking that that it would be before most of you have to leave the house. Is there a better time that would work for more of you? I would love to have this be a community of journalers. It is offered as a standalone membership as well as being a member benefit for all of you. Let me know your thoughts.

Journal Prompt Day 1:

Thinking about your physical health, do you get enough sleep? Do you have a regular time to sleep at night and wake in the morning? Do you feel rested when you get up? Do you crash in the afternoon and need a nap or a pick-me-up?
